Medieval coin: sterling imitation of John of Avesnes (obverse and reverse).
Description
English: An incomplete struck/ hammered silver sterling imitation of an Edwardian penny, minted by John of Avesnes at Valenciennes, Hainault between AD 1280 - 1304 (diameter: 18.5mm; thickness: 0.3mm; weight: 1.17g). The coin is in a slightly worn but fair condition.
