Medieval coin: penny of Edward I
Description
English: A worn medieval silver penny of Edward I dating from AD 1299-1301.

Minted at Canterbury. Probably an example  of Class 9a1 or a2. As North (1991: 30) no. 1036/1 or /2.

The coin may have been deliberately defaced and re-stamped, with a design featuring a central tree with a letter F to its left and presumably another initial to the right. 

Measurements: 16.9mm diameter, 0.8mm thickness, weight 0.70g.
