Description |
English: An incomplete copper-alloy Medieval casket key, dating to AD 1250-1450. It has a lozenge shaped bow with two outwards protruding knops at the side corners and a possibly broken loop at the third outer corner. The stem extends from the fourth corner of the bow and it is oval in cross-section with a moulded collar where they meet; the collar consists of three raised lines. The tip of the stem is hollow, although today is blocked by soil. The underside of the tip has a protruding bit which has a stepped profile.
