Title
Medieval candlestick holder.
Description
English: A cast copper-alloy candlestick of 14th-15th century date. Only the stem for holding the candle remains, with the circular base missing. The stick has a cup for holding the candle and the opposite end is socketed to fit into a base. There is moulded discoidal decoration approximately halfway up the stick and the cup for the candle has a simple incised band around its centre. The entire stick is hollow, but its metal content seems to have a high lead component.
