Description
English: Medieval copper alloy pin, incomplete, from a buckle. It is 46mm in length and weighs 6.20g. It is missing just under half the loop (ancient break) and although mostly rectangular in section, has rounded angles. At its highest, inclusive of decorative panel, it is 7mm high. Its width tapers from 4.5mm below the loop to 3.5mm at the pointed end, which is ever so slightly curving and decorated with three incised tranverse lines beyond a slight groove. The decorative panel below the loop is plain and c.0.5mm high. It measures 9.5x4mm and is rounded.
12th-14th century.
