Title
Medieval buckle pin
Description
English: A cast copper alloy pin, either from a brooch or buckle. The pin is 46mm long and 5.4mm wide. The front surface of the pin is slightly curved and the reverse is flat, creating a D-shape cross-section. At one end, the pin curves upwards into an arch. The pin is c3mm thick for most of its length but is thinner – only c2mm – where it is arched. At the arched end, the pin has a square end. At the other end, the pin tapers slightly and is curved at the end. The pin has a dull green patina with brown mottling and is medieval in date.
