Title
Medieval buckle pin
Description
English: Cast copper alloy pin from a Medieval buckle. It is covered in a green patina and part of the loop has broken. The finder has coated the surface in a varnish. It measures 47x11mm and weighs 3.21g.

It has a pointed tip and is rectangular in cross section. The grip has a single transverse groove. The surface is covered in file marks.

It is similar to 541 and 549 in Egan and Pritchard (1991), although the grips of these have slightly different decroation. Such cast pins date to between the end if the 13th and early 15th centuries.
