Medieval buckle
Description
English: A cast medieval copper alloy double loop annular buckle, dating to c. 1350-1400.The frame is circular with a central bar dividing it into two loops. The central bar is 2.8mm in width, and is sub triangular in cross section. The frame is d shaped in cross section and measures 5.3mm in width on the outer edge. The pin consists of a piece of copper alloy that has been wrapped around the central bar, and narrows to a point at the terminal end. The buckle has a dark green patina with patches of brown corrosion. The pin is an orangey brown colour. There is no decoration on the buckle, it measures 39.2mm in diameter, and weighs 11.54g.

A similar buckle can be seen in Egan and Pritchard 1991, p. 65-66, no 214.
