Description |
English: A cast copper-alloy Medieval single-loop buckle frame dating to the period AD 1300-1500. The buckle is D-shape with a flat D-sectioned frame and an integral plate. The plate has curved inside and outer edges as well as rounded outer corners and a small circular perforation halfway along the inside edge that once housed a pin loop. The underside of the frame is flat and there are two circular-sectioned attachment rivets on the outer edge of the plate. The entire object has a mottles light green and brown patina.
The buckle measures 35mm long, 29mm wide and 2mm thick. The pin hole is 3mm in diameter. The buckle weighs 5.28 grams. |
