Medieval buckle: Spectacle buckle
Description
English: A n incomplete copper alloy double looped buckle dating to the medieval period. The buckle, of the type often termed 'spectacle buckles' because of their appearance, is plain and undecorated and comprises just over have of the frame, retaining the strap bar but missing the pin. The type was in use for a long period and is usually dated to AD 1350-1650.
