Title
Medieval buckle: Single looped buckle
Description
English: A small copper alloy single looped buckle and buckle plate, dating to the medieval period. The buckle has a D-shaped frame with projection for the pin rest. The pin is of copper alloy and is retained. The buckle plate is rectangular in plan and made from a single sheet of copper alloy that has been foled over the recessed bar of the buckle; the plate is secured with one small rivet. Although file marks are visible on the buckle frame there is no other decoration. c. AD 1350-1450.
