Title
Medieval buckle: Rectangular buckle
Description
English: A cast copper alloy rectangular single 'loop' buckle, proabably dating to the medieval period. The buckle has a rectangular frame with angled outer edge, from the top of which protrudes a V-shaped notch in which the pin would have rested. The pin is now missing. The strap or plate bar is narrowed. Similar examples with a rectangular or oval frame and pin notch are dated to c. AD 1350-1450.
