Title
Medieval annular shoe buckle
Description
English: A copper alloy annular buckle probably dating from 1400 - 1600 AD. A small part of the iron pin is still in place, though corroded. The circular frame has an integral central bar round which the pin is attached. The frame bends up slightly on either side of the bar. The frame has a dark brown patina. It has a diameter of 15.01mm, thickness 2.55mm, weight 1.04g. For reference see Whitehead 2003. Buckles 1250-1800 p. 45. This buckle is probably from a shoe.
