Medieval annular buckle
Description
English: Medieval buckle; large, cast copper alloy annular buckle dating from the period c.1250-1450. The buckle is a single circular loop of sturdy copper alloy with a roughly oval cross section. The pin is also cast and loops around the buckle at one end before tapering to a rounded point at the other end. There is a single cast collar across the top of the pin where the loop meets the shaft. There is no pin bar and the pin is free to move around the whole circumference of the buckle.

Diameter 40.7mm, thickness 4.7mm, weight 22.71g
