Title
Medieval annular brooch with inscription
Description
English: Medieval copper alloy annular brooch, 32mm in diameter, 4mm wide and 1mm thick with a weight of 10.10g. The object is circular, with a broad band and a flat rectangular cross-section. It has a very short and narrow recess to hold the pin, now missing, and has a Latin inscription in poorly executed black-letter script on one face. The letters are divided into four evenly spaced groups within a well-made incised border which runs just inside either edge. The inscription reads 'ihc naza renus rex' (Jesus of Nazareth King).
