English: Description: A complete cast silver annular brooch dating to the Medieval period (c. AD 1200-1400). The brooch is circular in shape and cross section, with a pin attached to a short recessed section of the frame. The pin is attached to the frame by an oval attachment loop that is D-shaped in cross section, beneath which is a single raised collar. The shaft of the pin extending from the collar is roughly rectangular sub-cylindrical in shape and tapers gradually from the attachment loop towards the pointed tip that rests on the upper surface of the frame. There is no visible pin rest.

Dimensions: Frame: external diameter 12mm, 1.5mm thick. Pin: 13mm length, 1.2mm max. thickness and attachment loop 2.5mm in diameter. Total weight 0.79 grams

Consequently, in terms of age and as the object contains a minimum of 10% precious metal it qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.
