Title |
Medieval annular brooch/buckle. |
||
Description |
English: Late medieval - early post medieval cast copper alloy annular buckle with circular-sectioned wire pin. Frame pentagonal in section (outer edge bevelled). No constriction for the pin, although possible worn notch for the pin tip. The ring is mid grey in colour with file marks on all surfaces. The pin has a fine light green patina. Diameter 22.3-23.8mm, thickness 2.4mm, length of pin 24.2mm, diameter of pin 1.3mm, weight 2.97g.
This is identical to some of the copper alloy rings that are regularly found by detector users but which usually have no distinguishing features to indicate their use. |
