Description
English: Animal-head spout from medieval ewer, tubular with hexagonal external section with oval bore, curved neck with convex curve at opening to fit against neck of vessel, spout emerges from open mouth of cast head with worn features comprising traces of engraved pointed-oval eyes and moulded vertical ears against side of head. 78 x 98mm. Cf. EAA Occasional Paper 12, 12-3, fig.21, no.3 and FRG Datasheet 7, fig.8 A. 15th century.
