Title
Medieval Padlock
Description
English: A copper alloy barb-spring padlock. The case is rectangular in section with convex side edges. The underside is decorated with four grooves along its length and has a keyhole cut in one end. It is hollow and open at both ends. At one end an L-shaped arm extends upwards and is bent over the top of the case, where it tapers to a tip. At the bend there is a circular perforation. This resembles one of Goodall's Type C barrel padlocks (1990, p.1010 no.3666) from Winchester.
