Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Medieval Middle Street The area in the centre of Horsham, known as the Carfax, would have been an open space for markets, fairs, public capital punishments etc. where the five roads into the town met. The south of the Carfax and the area around the Causeway still have medieval streets such as Colletts Alley,Crown Alley, Talbot Lane and Morth Gardens. Middle Street, formerly Butchers Row, provided a connection between East Street and West Street until its pedestrianisation in the 1960s.
