Description
English: Medieval/post-medieval gilt copper alloy signet ring, worn and corroded, D-sectioned hoop with traces of engraved oblique lines around the convex face of the band imitating twisting with multiple short transverse lines between. Ovoid, diam.28-30mm. Internal diam.23mm. Oval bezel, length 13mm, width 11mm. Black-letter r with vertical frond to dexter within a cable border. See Kingsford 1929, p.172, lower case letters r, dated to 1522 and 1524.
