Title
Medieval Ewer Leg.
Description
English: Complete cast copper alloy leg from an ewer of Medieval, fourteenth or early fifteenth century date (AD 1300 - AD 1425). Length 59mm, maximum width 10mm and maximum thickness 16mm. Weight 36.53g. The leg appears to have broken at the point where it joined the body of the vessel. At this old break, it has a width of 10mm and a thickness of 16mm. It is sub triangular throughout its length, pointed at the front. A prominent transverse rib at the "ankle" separates the leg from the forward projecting foot. The foot is pointed at the front in similar form to that of the leg. On the flat sole of the foot is a small indentation which is possibly a casting flaw. The piece is in good condition and has a mid to dark green patina.
