Description
English: Part of a copper-alloy buckle of medieval date. Dates to between 1250 and 1500. It consists of a D-shaped loop with offset bar. On either side of the bar is a simple moulded decorative rib. The long side of the buckle has a pin rest at its mid point. This comprises a shallow depression with a central, horizontal, raised rib. There are two further, simple, decorative mouldings, one located either side of the pin rest. The reverse of the buckle loop is flat. The pin is still attached and consists of a flattened wire which has been bent around the bar. It tapers to a point at the pin rest end.
