Title |
Medieval Candlestick |
||
Description |
English: An incomplete socket from a cast copper alloy late medieval candlestick. The cylindrical socket is decorated with three incised circumferential rings, though the surface is very worn. One side of the socket is torn and folded. The terminal of the socket tapers to the remains of a bar/rivet, which has a diameter of 6.6mm and would have attached the socket to the base of the candlestick. The external diameter of the socket is 17.8mm at the base, the surviving length of the object is 44.3mm and the weight is 32.21g. |
