Description
English: A late medieval copper alloy button (late 15th-16th centuries). The button is discoidal and solid with a convex front and flat back. It is decorated with a central pellet and a clockwise 8-bladed impeller. It has a rectangular-section sub-lozenge shaped shank. The object has a diameter of 12.06mm and is 14.74mm long (shank length 10.34mm)and weighs 2.84g. A good parallel for this button is recorded in Read (2005, no. 112), although this example is approximately 1mm smaller in diameter than Read's.
