English: A lead papal bulla, used as a seal on official documents from the Pope Gregory XI in Avignon (1370 to 1378). The bulla is circular with the inscription on each side within a beaded border. The obverse reads GRE/GORIUS/PP XI and the reverse reads SPASPE above the heads of St. Peter and St. Paul facing each other in oval beaded borders, a cross pattée with long foot between. |
