Title
Medieval Buckle
Description
English: A large medieval copper alloy buckle dateable to the late 14th century AD. The buckle has a simple circular frame with central bar. The pin is missing and the frame is plain and undecorated. A similar, although smaller, buckle recovered from the Billingsgate Lorry Park watching brief in London during 1983 was dated between 1350-1400 AD. Buckles of this form were used as spurs in the late medieval period.
