Description |
English: An incomplete cast copper alloy Medieval barrel padlock. The sub-rectangular case has a circular swelling in the centre and is decorated on the underside with incised lines. Both sides have a vertical ridge on either side of the central swelling. One of the end plates is rectangular and has two rectangular holes for the missing bolt. The opposite end plate has a rectangular keyhole aperture on the side joining a cross shaped aperture on the underside. The complete L-shaped arm has a large circular perforation. The length of the padlock case is 27.1mm, the maximum width of the case is 12.6mm, the width of the complete padlock is 19.4mm and the weight is 9.12g. |
