Description |
English: A lead Papal Bulla of Pope Boniface IX (Piero Tomacelli) who was pope from November 2, 1389 - October 1, 1404 (14 years, 11 months). Pope Boniface IX was the second pope during the Great Western Schism. The obverse depicts the busts of St Paul (left) & St Peter (right) with what remains of the inscription S (PA S) PE. The reverse has - BONIFATIUS - PP VIIII.
The seal was found bent/broken, the picture has been edited digitally to 'reconstruct' the piece, for clarity! |
