Description
English: Complete lead spindle whorl of uncertain date, probably Roman to Medieval (c. 43 - 1500 AD). The spindle whorl is conical in shape, with a flat bottom and top face and angled sides. There is a central circular aperture which is 11.54mm in diameter. The surface of the spindle-whorl is pitted and notched. It is light grey in colour, with a diameter of 26.76mm and a thickness of 12.56mm. The spindle whorl weighs 39.99g.
