Medieval : coin
Description
English: Medieval silver penny, probably of John, possibly of Henry III, dating to the period 1205 - 1247 AD. Either class 5a-b or 8c (Spink, 2013). Mint of Northampton or London. Obverse of forward-facing bust with bulging eyes and two round curls on either side, beaded crown and sceptre, HENRICVS REX. Reverse of voided short cross with pellet ended saltires in corners, + ADAM MONI [.....]. Cross pattee initial mark. The coin is 19.13mm in diamter, 0.77mm in thickness and weighs 1.12g.
