Title
Medieval 'ring' brooch
Description
English: A complete cast copper alloy 'ring' brooch of square form dating to the medieval period (c.AD 1200-1400).

The brooch is lozenge in shape which is unusual for this type of brooch. The pin is positioned in a recess at one corner and the surface of the brooch is decorated with a series of small annular indentations which may have housed paste stones or more precious jewels.

See Hattatt 1987: 332-333 fig.1342.
