Title
Medieval 'lyre-shaped' buckle/strap-end fragment (probably)
Description
English: A fragment of a copper-alloy buckle or strap-end of Late Medieval date.

The piece represents part of the outer side of the frame. The side is of sub-oval section, extending into a wide pin-rest decorated with curved lines and punched rings. It measures 16.2mm long, 11.2mm wide and 2.1mm thick. The weight is 2.52g.

This object probably originates from a hollow-ended, 'lyre-shaped' strap-end or buckle (cf. Griffiths et al. 2007: 103/pl. 17, nos. 764 and 765).
