Title
Medieval: Lyre-shaped strap end fragment
Description
English: A worn fragment of a medieval strap end, probably of lyre-shaped form. The fragment comprises the plate, which is of box construction, and which contains the remains of the textile strap. There are traces of a short inscription on the plate which is common on strap ends of this form. The missing openwork terminal may have borne a representation of St Christopher.
