Description
English: Maj. Gen. Jeffery Hammond, commanding general of the 4th Infantry Division, awards Chief Warrant Officer 3 James Frederick the Distinguished Flying Cross for meticulously piloting a UH-60 air ambulance helicopter while hovering over a burning building in order to rescue four trapped Iraqi national police officers in eastern Baghdad July 18, 2008 during an awards ceremony at Camp Taji Feb. 6. Frederick, of Groves, Texas, serves as an aeromedical evacuation pilot with Company C, 2nd Battalion, 4th Aviation Regiment, Combat Avn. Brigade, 4th Inf. Div., Multi-National Division - Baghdad.
