English: First field dressing "War Office Medical Division. First Field Dressing. To open (Outer cover - pull tapes apart. Inner waterproof cover - tear apart the uncemented corners as indicated by the arrow.) Contents - Iodine Ampoule in cardboard tube. Two dressings in waterproof covers, each consisting of a gauze pad stitched to a bandage, and a safety pin. Directions for use - First apply the iodine in accordance with the instructions on the cardboard tube enclosed. Then take the folded ends of the bandage in each hand, and keeping the bandage taut, apply gauze to the wound and fix the bandage. One Dressing to be used for each wound. DO NOT HANDLE THE GAUZE OR WOUND. John Bell and Croyden Ltd. London, W."
