Description
English: Medea sarcophagus, Rome (Italy), near Porta Lorenzo. Marble, produced in Rome, 140-150 BC. Four scenes from Euripides' tragedy are shown. Greek mythology provided popular topics for sarcophagi, witrh their scenes of wedding, death, happiness and sorrow.
Deutsch: Medea-Sarkophag, Rom (Italien), in der Nähe von Porta Lorenzo. Marmor, hergestellt in Rom, 140-150 v. Es werden vier Szenen aus der Tragödie von Euripides gezeigt. Die griechische Mythologie lieferte den Sarkophagen beliebte Themen mit ihren Szenen von Hochzeit, Tod, Glück und Trauer.
