Description
English: Medallion, bronze, cast. Circular with one face depicting Maori warrior in centre with school motto "QUI SERUIT ILLE MAXIMUS" (who serves is greatest), around edge. Reverse face has school initials "WTC" (see object card) in centre with "FOR MERIT" underneath and laurel around edge. Engraved around rim "Joyce S. Doherty. Public Speaking Champion, 1936". Medallion is boxed in brown (leather) case, square with gold pattern around edge of lid. Interior of case lined with cream satin with "Walker and Hall Ltd.-Sheffield." below flag motif printed in gold on lid. Recess for medallion cut into base.
