Notes | New Zealand Memorial Cross commemorating the death of 3501 Dvr. Leslie Rongowhakaata Crapp of Howick, NZ Army Service Corps. 2NZEF, WW2 Also known as Raymond Leslie Crapp. He had been part of the 2nd Echelon (‘The 2nd Echelon’ 2 NZEF was the administrative body set up at 2 NZEF Base Camp in the Middle East and Italy to process personnel matters within the expeditionary force), and died in New Zealand at the age of 31 on 11-1-1945. He was buried at Waikumete Cemetery. Lindsay Rongowhakaata Crapp was from a large Whakatane family. He had six brothers, three of whom also served during WW2. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
