Notes | Queen's South Africa Mediterranean Medal 1899-1902 Medal awarded to 6554 Pte J Farrell, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. The Mediterranean medal was awarded to men serving in garrisons in the Mediterranean - Malta, Gibraltar and Although the first battalin of the regiment served in South Africa during the Anglo Boer War, the 3rd Battalion (formerly the Royal Lancashire Militia) undertook garrison duty in the Mediterranean in 1900, relieving regular troops for service in South AFrica. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
