Notes | Victory Medal 1914-19, WW1 Awarded to 25-1840 Rifleman Frank Silk Whitaker, New Zealand Rifle Brigade, NZEF. Frank Silk Whitaker, married man of Auckland served on the Western Front and lost his life at Passchendaele. He left a ten year old son and a baby daughter he had never met. His memory is held in a small collection of embroidered postcards sent to his son. A letter to his widow described where Frank was initially buried. However, he is now listed among those with no known grave at the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
