Notes | British War Medal 1914-20 Medal Awarded to 40595 Private Walter Samuel Marvin, 1st Battalion, Auckland Infantry Regiment, NZEF. At the time of his enlistment in 1916 Walter Marvin was employed as a ropeworker by the Rope and Twine Company, Stanley Street Auckland. He left New Zealand with the 22nd Reinforcements on 16th February 1917. He died in France on 1st October 1918, as a result of gunshot wounds to the chest, and is buried at the Grevillers British Cemetery near Bapaume. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
