Description ig. 100. — A Diverticulum Tying off a Loop of Small Bowel. This indicates the manner in which the obstruction occurred (cf. Fig. 99) . Meckel's diverticulum has dropped over a loop of bowel which has been partly twisted. After passing under the loop it curves upward and passes through the space between the base of the diverticulum and the adjacent small bowel. With the consequent distention of the constricted bowel, complete obstruction has resulted
