| Description |
English: Meales Farm, Sulhamstead A view of the 17th/18th century farmhouse from the footpath off Kingston Lane. This is in the hamlet of Sulhamstead Bannister Upper End, a reminder of the time when Sulhamstead was two parishes and two manors, Sulhamstead Abbots and Sulhamstead Bannister. Upper End contained Sulhamstead Bannister's church. Only the graveyard remains. Lower End was a detached area beyond Burghfield. This detached part of the parish survived by itself as Sulhamstead Bannister civil parish until recently whereas Sulhamstead Bannister Upper End and Sulhamstead Abbots were combined to form Sulhamstead civil parish in 1934. |
