This archway, originally set in a stone wall, was built by convict labour in the 1920s or 1930s as an entrance to the men's toilets. It is important as one of the historic structures built on Rangitoto for community use. It has been fenced off due to its deteriorated and dangerous condition, and is being assessed for repair.
