Summary
[edit]DescriptionMcGeachie tartan, tileable.png |
English: Family tartan for McGeachy (MacGeachie, McGeachy, MacGeachy, McKeachie, M'Gechie, M'Gachie, McGechie, McGachie, McKeachie, M'Keachie, McKechnie, MacKechnie, etc.), by David James McGeachie, 2007. This render splits the difference between the version shown at Scottish Register of Tartans (SRT) with a very light blue, and the version previously uploaded to Commons as a poor-quality JPEG by the original designer, with the blue shifted toward fuchsia and so indistinct from the red that the design was basically ruined.
This version of the file is not simply full-sett and is not tileable. SRT notes on this design: "The colours are taken from David J McGeachie's family coat of arms, combining the colours from the flags of Scotland and Ireland as part of his family history. It may be used by anyone of that name or variations such as MacGeachie, McGeachy, MacGeachy, McKeachie, M'Gechie, M'Gachie, McGechie, McGachie, McKeachie, M'Keachie, McKechnie or MacKechnie." This is a normal, mirroring sett. The thread count from SRT, in slash notation: /W2 K12 BB18 R24 K24 G64 K12 Y2/ or in bold notation: W2 K12 BB18 R24 K24 G64 K12 Y2 (where BB = Balmoral blue or old blue; SRT's own render shows Balmoral blue, but their threadcount information specified old blue – I have rendered it with Balmoral blue, after looking at the designer's other work; this seems to be the intended colour). |
