Description
English: A U.S. Navy McDonnell Douglas F/A-18C-32-MC Hornet (BuNo 164213) from Strike Fighter Squadron 136 (VFA-136) "Knight Hawks" armed with an AGM-62 Walleye missile in flight over the Persian Gulf on 11 Febraury 1992. VFA-136 was assigend to Carrier Air Wing 7 (CVW-7) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) for a deplyoment to the Mediterranean Sea from 26 September 1991 to 2 April 1992.
The F/A-18C 164213 later crashed into a mountain at night near Fallon, Nevada (USA), on 12 August 1993 while in service with VFA-136. The pilot was killed.
