Title
English: Mayor Ole Hanson with family and car, ca. 1920
Description
English: At first, cars were a luxury that only the rich could afford. After 1908, with the introduction of the Model T, cars were mass-produced and much less expensive. In 1915, nearly 7,000 car licenses were issued in Seattle. By 1920, that number had risen to over 44,000. Seattle's population was roughly 403,000 at the time.

In this photo, taken around 1920, Seattle's mayor Ole Hanson is shown with his car and family.
