Summary
[edit]DescriptionMaybole 1st railway station (site), Ayrshire (geograph 5087329).jpg |
English: Maybole 1st railway station (site), Ayrshire Opened in 1856 by the Ayr & Maybole Junction Railway, later part of the Glasgow & South Western Railway, this short-lived terminus station closed to passengers in 1860 when it was replaced by the current station some 500m behind the camera position. View east across the current line towards the site of the buffers. Although it was used as a goods station for years afterwards, no trace apparently now remains as the site has been redeveloped. |
