| Description |
English: Mayall's Coppice during February Snow. Just after mid-day and the very fine snow has almost stopped. The tops of the Malvern Hills are hidden in the low cloud. Warmer moist air moved up from the south-west to meet the freezing cold air hanging over the Midlands. After plenty of warning the fine snow started to fall at about 3 am. there were no large flakes and it was often difficult to tell whether it had stopped. Many schools closed and drivers told not to venture out unless the journey was absolutely necessary. |
